Plastic pipe with permanently fixed intumescent material in the form of
a polymer tape.
Intumescent material begins expanding
in the heat
and seals the hole.
Prevents the spread
of fire to adjacent compartments.
Up to EI 120 C/U, U/C, C/C
Environment class: Z2
Fire duct should be stored in a dry place with the temperature ranging from +5°C to +30°C for no longer than 24 months.
Description & use
Epipe is simple and effective solution for making fireproof sealing of electric cable penetrations through walls or floors. Epipe fire duct is a plastic pipe with permanently fixed intumescent insert in the form of a polymer tape with an admixture of graphite and other ingredients, causing it to increase its volume under the action of high temperature, closing the hole together with the tube on which it is rolled and cables inside the duct. The principle of operation of the fire ducts is exactly the same as in the case of protection for plastic pipes with the use of fire protection tape. They can also be used to protect small diameter metal pipe bundles in FEF insulation.
Epipe is designed to stop fire and perform fireproof sealing of penetration seal through walls or floors through which single cables or cable bundles pass. The advantage of this solution is the possibility of adding an additional cable or cables even after the complete installation of Epipe in the wall or floor. Epipe is available in two diameters: Ø 50 and Ø 110, which makes it possible to select the perfect duct depending on the needs. For further information see ETA-17/1061.
Types of partitions where penetration seals
can be made using Epipe
FLOOR: Floors built of concrete or reinforced concrete, with a thickness of not less than 150 mm and a density of not less than 1700 kg/m3
RIGID WALL: Walls built of concrete, (reinforced, cellular) solid brick, hollow or checkered brick, with a min. thickness of 100 mm or 125 mm and a min. density of 600 kg/m3
FLEXIBLE WALL: Walls with a minimum thickness of 100 mm, with a skeleton structure built of steel or wooden sections
inside the duct
(cables should cover no more than 60%
of the duct fill).
