Product description and specifications:

PiroCoat A ablation paste is intended for fire protection of mineral wool used as: covering of steel pipes passing through partitions, filling combined fireproof installation penetrations, filling gaps and expansion joints in walls and fire ceilings, fireproofing of gypsum plasterboards or filling between them. PiroCoat A is a one-component ablative paste, which is an aqueous dispersion of synthetic resin. The coating made of this mass is completely non-flammable. It is characterized by endothermic properties. In fire conditions, it blocks its spread.

  • Fire resistance class: up to EI 120

  • Reaction to fire: Bfl-s1; B-s2,d0

  • Color: creamy-white

  • Density: 1,56 ± 5% g/cm³

  • Environment class: Z1, Z2

  • Storage temperature range: from +5°C  to +30°C

  • Shelf life: 10 months in the original sealed bucket

  • Theoretical amount of mass needed (kg/m²): 1 mm thick coating 1,93 kg/m²

Put  Piro Multitube  PM on the pipe under the insulation and slide it into the wall.

Then put insulation on the pipe and a tape.

Fill the remaining space with mineral wool. By using a putty knife, apply PiroCoat A paste to form a ring with a width of min. 50 mm and thickness min. 0.6 mm.

Apply PiroCoat A paste to the pipe cover so that a ring forms with a width of min. 50 mm and thickness min. 0.6 mm.

Mark the penetration with the attached label, mark Piro Multitube PM on it, enter the date and name.

The way of protecting metal pipes in mineral wool insulation penetrating floor or wall

(protection should be done on both sides).

Fill the space between the pipe insulation and the partition tightly. Use mineral wool with a density of min. 60 kg/m³ or cement mortar.

By using a putty knife, apply PiroCoat A to the partition so that a ring with a minimum width of 50 mm and a minimum thickness of 0.6 mm is formed.

Apply PiroCoat A to the pipe cover so that a ring is formed with a minimum width of 50 mm and a minimum thickness of 0.6 mm.

Mark the penetration with the attached label, mark PiroCoat A on it, enter the date and name.

The way of protecting the combined penetrations of pipes and cables in floors and fire ceilings

(protection should be done on both sides).

Fill the hole in the wall from two sides with mineral wool boards with a minimum density of 150 kg/m³ and a minimum thickness of 50 mm.

By using a putty knife apply a 1.2 mm layer of PiroCoat A onto the wool.

Protect pipes and cables according to the instructions in the catalog.

Mark the penetration with the attached label, mark all Pirosystem materials used on it, enter the date and name.
